I have my computer set up with a Nvidia Geforece 4 mx420 agp and an ATI Raddion 9250 pci. i have my ATI as primary and the Nvidia as secondary but to get the dual moniter to work i have to start up the nvidia card first because it is the agp card. now my problem is that i want to use the ati for games and such but in the dxdiag it says that the direct3d is unavailble. it works fine when i have the nvida out of the computer but when put it in to use the multi montiers it dosent work. is there some way to change the display number or is that not even my problem. any help would be appreicated.

sorry, i can't make sense of your post. you have some conflicting statements in some parts and you aren't specific enough in others.

please tell us what works when what cards are installed.

You need to install Chipset drivers. Your AGP card isn't functioning properly because of this. The Chipset controls the AGP slot.

You've got to deinstall all display-drivers and the get the PCI card working properly before you install the drivers for AGP card.
Here ist a thread where the workaround is explained:

nVidia (AGP) and ATI (PCI)
