Hi All:
Need some help please I have a bfg 6800 ultra oc which takes up the space of the number 1 pci slot, no way to get a card in it, is it possible to use the other slots or could I run into a situation where it will not work unless its in that number 1 slot, plan on buying a CHAINTECH FX 5200 Video Card, 256MB to run the 3rd monitor, they are 21.3 lcd's for flight simulator 2004, also will those to graphic cards work together ok, one more question please after buying all of these new toys will flight simulator 2004 work across all 3 monitors. Thank you

They run happily in any old slot these days with none of the old clashes that were the bane of my life years ago...

Hi Mike:

Thaks for the great news, appreciate your reply, if possible could you give me an idea on setting up the drivers for two different cards are they loaded separate for each card for instance can I download a better suited driver for the nvidia 5200 pci version, I use the best beta drivers I can find for the 6800, I probablly do not want to use that for the 5200 pci card, does windows use different drivers for each card ? Thanks you.

Slap on current WHQL ones - 71.84s. Reboot. Confirm working fine on two monitors. Windows 'should' spot it or the nView Wizard cuts in and does it for you.

If neither happens. Righ click on desktop, properties, settings, select 2rd monitor, click 'Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor'

Have a beer...

Thanks again Mike:

Not quite sure what you mean about the 71.84's am I going to use this 1 driver for both cards. The newer driver (71.84) will run both video cards fine not seprate drivers for each card, thought you have to load an older driver for the 5200 pci. By the way how did you know I was running 71.84s from "tweaksrus" good call.

I am running the PCIe 6800 ultra and the FX5200 for three monitors and 71.90 WHQL driver downloaded from guru3d.com. When you add the FX5200 card, Windows should find the card, just point it to the 71.90 driver location and let it install. Yes, use this driver for both. I had problems with OpenGL acceleration on drivers prior to the 71.90 when using all three monitors, all fixed now. Good luck.

Although 66.93s are still listed as current WHQLs at nVidia, anyone playing with multiple moniotrs is likely to know the leaked 71.84s are WHQL certified too and give them a whirl...

Oh - and regardless the number or moniots/cards you use, they only need one instance of the driver - assuming all the graphics cards are nVidia - same for multiple Radeons. They don't mix very well, so no need for 2 x drivers...

Thanks Mike your the best, take care. Wish you new more about 3 monitors in flight simulator, not to keen on spending 3,800 dollars on monitors if it doesn't work, the only other alternative would be 3 computers and network them w/ wideview oh boy that soundslike a lot more money.

As I understand it FS comes with multi monitor out of the box. Here is a good place to start. Looks like they use something called Wideview
