My monitors won't enable on bootup when used with Aten model VE-120 VGA Extenders (Which 'extend' VGA over CAT-5 UTP)

My setup:
2x Colorgraphic Xentra GT8 cards.
Aten VE-120 UTP VGA extenders
Philips 15" LCD monitors

If I use standard VGA cable then the display system works. If I 'hot-swap' the standard VGA cable out and swap in the VGA Extenders then the display works, and the image is quite sharp.

The problem is if I reboot then the monitors with the extenders aren't enabled and cannot be made to enable in the ultramon settings.

Is there any way I can force it to enable a monitor so these extenders can work, even after a reboot? Note that this only happens to approximately half of the monitors with VGA extenders.
