Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 system menu click causes crash
Steve   2005-04-10 00:36
Hi,

With ultramon running, starting Acrobat 7 reader, then clicking Acrobat7's system menu (the doodad in the top left) causes Acrobat7 to crash. Without ultramon running: no crash.

Error message is: "AcroRd32.exe - Application Error : The instruction at '0x2d864aa2" referenced memory at "0x0000008". The memory could not be "read""

Running Ultramon 2.5.22.0 on Windows XP SP2.

Let me know if there is any extra info I can provide, or things I can try, that would help.

Steve.

Adobe Reader version 7 is not compatible with the custom menu commands added by UltraMon, to fix the problem the custom menu commands need to be disabled for Adobe Reader.

To do this, right-click the UltraMon icon in the system tray, select Options from the menu, then select the Window Menu tab and add the executable for Adobe Reader, AcroRd32.exe, to the list of excluded applications.

UltraMon menu commands will be disabled by default for Adobe Reader in the next release.

Disabling it for Acrobat7 as you described has worked.

Thanks!

I get the following message, randomly after I print form any software: Quark, Illustrator etc... I print a pdf as I always have and all of the sudden I have been getting this:
The instructions at "0x032f631d" referenced memory at "0x032f631d". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

Acrobat 7 still opes automatically if I click ok, I believe the file seems to be ok.

Bob, does this only happen if UltraMon is running or installed?

I too get this message:
The instructions at "0x032f631d" referenced memory at "0x032f631d". The memory could
not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

It might happen when I open or close Acrobat 7 or Illustrator 10.0.3 or IE Explorer.

I was reading the others with the same situation-- What is Ultramon?

Annoying!

Please help!
