I have an A8N-SLI mobo with a XFX 6800GT PCI-E video card with 2 monitors connected. I want to add 2 (or 3) extra monitors for 2D stuff. I have both a ATI 9200 based PCI card and a Nvidia fx5200 based PCI card available. Before meshing-up with it, I would like to ask a couple of questions: -Does anybody have experience with combined use of these PCI-E and PCI cards ? - Are there any drivers issues/ which driver vesions (not)to use - Are there any performance related issues
Thanks in advance for any helpful reply
See you, Jan

Have not been to the forum lately so you may already have your answers. I am running the 6800 Ultra with FX5200, no issues, but I do recommend at least 71.90 or later drivers. I had some problems with OpenGL on the FX5200 before installing the newer drivers. The ATI card is probably no problem either, just means you will need additional drivers.

Hi Keith, Thanks for the answer. If I go for a 4 monitor solution I will certainly try the FX5200 with the latest drivers. However, by now I am more in favour of a 5 monitor solution and I am thinking of a combination of 2 PCI-E cards, the current 6800GT with 2 monitors and a Matrox Parhelia APVe with 3 monitors. But I have no idea if this will work. Also Matrox did not have an answer for me on this point. Anybody here can help me out ?
See you, Jan

Keith, are you able to have OpenGL apps rendered on both cards?
