Forums -> UltraMon™ -> version 3.0 before a year?

I really like ultramon and I am interested in buying it, but the note: If a new major version (for example 3.0 final) is released within a year of your purchase, you are eligible for a free upgrade. gave me pause...

I really don't want to be paying again next year (or the year after that, for that matter)...

Would it be too unreasonable to know if 3.0 is planned within the next 12 months and if for some reason it doesn't make it, to simply grandfather all new 2.5 keys?

I don't have a release date yet for 3.0 final, but my guess would be that it will probably take more than a year.

Beta 1 is under development, but the next release will be 2.6. All beta releases will be free upgrades.

At the moment I have no plans to change the upgrade policy.

potentialcustomer,

the "1 yr free upgrade elgibility is standard terms" for many software titles, commercial or shareware. it is a bit unrealistic to expect that a one-time purchase fee will entitle you to a term significantly longer than that.

ps. i am not affiliated with Ultramon in any way, just a satisfied user.

Hardly. Mr. Yuri Kobets, producing a related product named True Launch Bar, offers free updates forever. He also produces more than one update per month!

You should check it out. Hardest working software developer I know.
