re: the upgrade. All was well until I upgraded, and now everytime any program starts on my puter I get multiple MS spyware icons in the task bar. I exit ultramon and it immediately stops doing such. Additionally, starting a program takes 50% longer when ultramon is running. I turn it off and all is well. It was not doing this with the older version. You want me to return to the older version. I am running XP2 pro on a dell workstation with a zeon 3.6 (dual) processors with 2 gig of Ram with a Matrox Millenum P650 PCIe 128

If you haven't done this already, try if restarting your system fixes the problem.
This shouldn't be necessary, but I've seen weird behavior occasionally after upgrading without doing a reboot.

I was having the same problems with 2.6. Multiple Microsoft Antu-Spyware icons in the tray...applications taking longer to start up...applications running much, much slower. The problem is easily reproduced. Multiple reboots didn't fix the problem. I am running Win XP SP2 (latest hotfixes as of 6.14.2005, a bunch were released today) on a HP Workstation xw4100.
Shutting down UltraMon made the problems go away. I have now downgraded to 2.5 and things are back to normal...working fine.

I too had the same problem with the muliple MSFT Anti-Spyware icons. I'm downgrading to 2.5 until this problem is resolved.
