Cant find anything to help...

Left Monitor (Primary) 1152 x 864
Right Monitor (Secondary) 1024 x 768

If i run a game (at 800 x 600) full screen on the primary monitor it 'overflows' 352 pixels of the desktop onto monitor 2, pushing whatever is on monitor 2 almost off the edge... It also adjusts the gamma of the second monitor to that of the game...

Is there a way to run a game (fullscreen app) on monitor 1 at a lower resolution and have it leave monitor 2 alone?

Ok - revised question... i see ultramon does exactly what i want (by changing the ultramon properties - even for shotcuts!!!)

any other way to stop this issue other than setting each and every application/shortcut to a 'new' desktop resolution?

You could also create a display profile which sets the primary to the resolution you want to use for the game, or which moves the secondary monitor to the left of the primary.

Both of these workarounds will fix the problem you experience.
