I've been running my G400 on 2 monitors for years now under Win 98SE . Both screens have the same wallpaper and I place a different program in each screen. It works well for me.
I tried to set up dual monitors on XP over the weekend and could not get the same arrangement. I downloaded the new XP driver. Whatever I do it either stretches across both screens and splits dialog boxes or the second screen goes blank [if I reduce the resolution] I have a viewsonic 17" and a cheaper ProGen 17"- No previous problems. Any idea for a fix? Thanks

When you install the driver, you have to tell it to install the advanced dual-head feature to get normal Windows dual-monitor support, at least that's the way it is with the G450's I've installed.
Try uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, and reinstalling the drivers, including the advanced dual-head support, and rebooting again.
