I'm thinking about getting me some more monitors. How about this TwinView card:

ELSA GLADIAC 511 MX-400 PCI TWIN/TV

It's a nVidia card like my GF256, any problem there? Or would a Matrox 450 DualHead PCI be better for my system:

KT7-RAID + TB 850@1000 + 256 MB mem
AGP Geforce 256
2*Maxtor 30 GB UDMA100 @ RAID-0
IBM 20 GB
56k modem PCI
Live 1024 PCI

If you want to use Windows 2000 or XP, get the Matrox. Nvidia TwinView doesn't have full multimon support on 2000/XP.

yes Win2k.

What does that "matrox: no overlay support on the second head" mean really? Windows Media Player doesn't work, i just get a black window? What software use overlay?

If I use the geforce as primary and the matrox heads as secondary, do I have to disable the heads to run OpenGL games?

All video players use overlays, if available. If they aren't available, it will still work, but fullscreen video will be a lot slower and image quality will be bad.

Whether you will need to disable secondary monitors for OpenGL depends on the driver version. 11.x should work without disabling, also 7.x and 6.5x if I remember correctly.
