Forums -> Multiple monitors -> force monitor cloning on windows XP laptop with two configured monitors

I recently purchased a large LCD monitor to serve as my primary monitor at work (and just use my laptop LCD while on the road). The problem is that I wasn't thinking clearly when I first hooked up the monitor and I went ahead and configured the LDC panel as a second monitor.

Now I can't seem to ge cloning to work. I read in one of the other threads that you can't have cloning with two monitors configured. However, no matter what I try (device manager GUI, devcon CLI whether in safe mode or not) I cannot get the monitor's driver to unload. I can use devcon to see the driver (using findall but not with find), but I can't get it to remove using remove, even if I use the =monitor class.

Having given up, for now, on removing the device, I am still trying to get cloning to work.

Any thoughts?
