Forums -> Multiple monitors -> 2 monitors - 1 square, 1 widescreen

I have a 17" widescreen laptop and a 19 square flat screen monitor. The laptop is a HP Pavillion ZD7000, which has an NVIDIA GeForce Go5200 and a built-in dual monitor utility (NVIDIA Media Centre).

I've got the two monitors set up so they look like one big widescreen monitor. I can easily move windows from one monitor to the other.

BUT ... because the monitors are different shapes, if I set the resolution to suit the square monitor, everything on the widescreen looks stretched. If I set the resolution to suit the widescreen, everything looks compressed on the square monitor. I can't find any way of defining different shapes for the two displays.

Can UltraMon solve this problem for me?

I don't think UltraMon would do anything to help this. Sounds like you have the video drivers set to Span mode, not extended desktop mode. In regular extended desktop mode, the monitors can each be set to their own resolution.

you have to use additional tools like iRotate

NVidia's NView allows you to rotate each monitor, so no other software is needed.
