First off I am using MaxiVista to create a secondary monitor on my Dell notebook.

I have set the option to show the border when hidden on my notebook. However, I can't see it when the taskbar is hidden.

Is there any advice you could give me to make the border visible when hidden?

Thanks.

Make sure that always on top is checked for the UltraMon taskbar, otherwise the border might get hidden behind application windows.

Let me clarify.

There is nothing on my desktop at all. It's not a window hiding the taskbar. On top is checked as well as auto hide.

When the taskbar retreats, the little thin line that is supposed to be left is not visible at all. I am assuming that this works just like the 'real' taskbar.

While not having the thin line is probably a good thing I am curious as to why it won't display on my secondary notebook monitor.

Unfortunately I don't know what else might cause this.

One thing you could do is to test if it works fine on your primary monitor. To do this, grab the taskbar's bottom-right corner with the mouse and move it to the primary monitor.

I did as you said and dragged the UM taskbar to my primary monitor and the thin line was visible when the taskbar was hidden.

I also moved it around on my notebook and discovered that the thin line does appear when the taskbar is on the top and left side of my notebook. It does not appear when on the bottom and on the right.

When it doesn't appear I notice that the drag indicator thingy is only partially visible as if more of it is below.

I wonder if the fact that my secondary screen comes by way of MaxiVista and not a 'real' monitor is the problem?

I have now tested with MaxiVista as well, seems to be a MaxiVista issue, the border of the Windows taskbar also isn't visible on the MaxiVista monitor.

When using the laptop directly and not as a MaxiVista viewer, the Windows taskbar border is visible.

Looks like the screen contents of the MaxiVista monitor are shifted slightly to the right and bottom.
