Forums -> UltraMon™ -> quick launch bars and display profiles

Hey there. I currently have a multiple monitor setup with 2 auto-hide quicklaunch bars on the secondary monitor. Now, because of performance issues with some programs, I have a display profile set up to revert to a single monitor. When this profile kicks in, the quick launch bars are moved to the dingle monitor. When I switch back, however, I have to manually move the bars back and re-set the auto-hide and always-on-top values. This sort of defeats the purpose of the quick profile switch. Is there a way to define where the quicklaunch bars are supposed to be on a given profile? If not, would it be possible in a later release?

Thanks,

Gmoff

Ok, I did some digging and found a script, ApplyProfileAndMoveWinTbar, that does this for the main windows task bar by applying a profile and then moving the bar seperately. Would it be difficult to set this up for quicklaunch bars? Also, would this maintain orientation on the screen and width? One of the bars is two icons wide. Right now moving the bar reverts it to one, and I have to expand it manually.

While I'm making wishes, the RestoreWndPos functionality would be nice in this scripts as well. I suppose another script would have to be set up to use SavWndPos and then apply the single screen profile.

Not with autohide toolbars, but the position of non-autohide toolbars could be saved and restored with the Save/RestoreWndPos scripts.

UltraMon 3 might have a solution for this, I'm considering adding support for UltraMon desktop toolbars, which would move to their original position automatically.

Ok, so would it be possible to move the bars around and just lose the autohide status? It wouldnt be perfect, but its a far cry better than the current situation.

Not if the toolbars are using autohide, UltraMon can't position autohide toolbars.

After re-enabling the secondary monitor, the toolbar is still using autohide, it only loses the autohide status when you move it back to the secondary monitor manually.
