I got two monitors of different makes. Each shows the same color slightly differently. For example the gray of this web page looks different on both monitors. Is there any way to calibrate the two monitors to display the exact same color?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have used the colorific software that came with one of my monitors (Samsung 950P) to try to correct this but it did not work.

I have added a new entry to the FAQ covering this problem, see Monitor calibration.

It can be tricky to get the colors to match exactly, I have recently replaced an old monitor with a new LCD flatpanel, and am still tweaking the settings...

Your FAQ is good, but for semi-professionals, I would add the relatively inexpensive colorimeters that affix to the monitor for a real solid and repeatable calibration option.

Check out:

ColorVision (www.colorcal.com) for the Spyder ($200-300) Not good for LCDs, though.

Sequel Chroma (www.inkjetmall.com/store/prove-it.html) for $399. Works with LCds too, I believe.

There are others, too...

Thanks for the information, I have updated the FAQ.
