Just got a new Thinkpad with dock that lets me do windows multimon (not very savvy; I am used to nvidia tools for multimon at home).
I'm hoping that ultramon will allow me to automatically change "profiles" when I dock (at my desk = multimon) and undock (off to a meeting = back to just one monitor).
Does it work (well) for this kind of activity?
Thanks,
TC

UltraMon doesn't support running a profile when you dock/undock, you would need to apply the profile manually.
Please note that UltraMon usually can't change the primary monitor, for example set the external monitor as primary when the laptop is docked, and the internal monitor as primary otherwise.

Thanks -- I discovered that setting primary as the internal is KEY -- otherwise, undock and if your primary monitor was the external, you are stuck with no usable screen (oops!).
Is there is a way for Ultramon to handle calls via command line? Something like: c:\foo\ultramon -profile=dual.
If so, AND the new "thinkvantage suite" has hooks for dock / undock, then automation is a a real possibility....
Thanks,
TC

To apply a profile, run the following command:
UltraMonShortcuts.exe /l <displayprofile>
UltraMon Help > Scripting > Command-line arguments has more information on available command line arguments.
