Im running ultramon on my windows xp (sp2) machine with 2 monitors.

Whenever i use remote desktop to connect to it remotely, it disables the secondary monitor and moves all the applications on the second monitor over to the primary.

Is there any way to use Remote desktop without having it disable the second monitor?
Maybe implement it so that there is a Hotkey similar to "Move to Next monitor" (view next monitor maybe).

What im looking for is either some settings that will make Remote Desktop ignore the second monitor, or maybe some way to set ultramon so that it will preserve the second monitor like it is.

UltraMon won't help with this, the problem is that the Remote Desktop client will always only show the primary monitor, independent of the number of monitors connected to the remote system.

If you need access to all remote monitors, you could use a remote control client with multi-monitor support, for example pcAnywhere.

I often rdp into my pc from home (3 monitors) and I find I cannot access apps already running on non-primary monitors but I don't see it killing off ultramon or adversely affecting them.

I do get my desktop icons on my primary monitor getting messed up but that is because typically, my RDP resolution is less than the local resolution of my primary monitor.

To combat that, I regularly save my desktop icon position.
