I do alot of travel and need to find a solution for my need to have 2 screens. I have a laptop that is capable of using another monitor, but I can not think of a good way to travel with a second monitor. I would like to have one small enough that it could clip on to the side of my laptop, but I would settle for a monitor designed for travel including a case. If I had the knowhow I would try to make my own or start up a new business. I can't find anything anywhere. I can't even find a viable solution that I could safely carry another monitor (except for a $450 custom case). Let me know if you have some ideas.

Get a cheap second laptop, and use MaxiVista.
