I have a standard Dell business laptop and am looking to add another (2nd) flatscreen monitor to the setup, and possibly a 3rd. Need some advice on what hw I need to enable this, and any recommendations you may have.

You could use the VTBook PCMCIA video card for the second external monitor.
The VTBook also supports two monitors via a special dualhead cable, but the maximum resolution for each monitor is either 1024x768 with 32-bit color or 1280x1024 with 16-bit color.
