At home I have a desktop PC with an Ultramon dual-monitor setup. When I logon to my PC locally, ultramon just runs fine.

When I connect to my PC from an external location using Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc.exe), Ultramon has to switch back from two monitors to one (remote) monitor. Ultramon fires up with the messagebox "Failed to set systray icon".

I know it is possible to change a registry key to expand the auto start delay. Although I would like to see that it's possible to show a different messagebox with the error. Instead of an Ok button, Retry and Cancel buttons would be better.

If the users presses the Retry button, Ultramon will try to set the systray icon again. Pressing Cancel will result in the same process as the current Ok button.

What do you think of it?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've also been thinking about a solution for this, most likely the next release will no longer show an error message, and instead will automatically retry adding the system tray icon at a later time.
