I recently got a Gainward GeForce MX400 card. I'm happy with it so far, except that I cannot get TwinView to work under Windows 98. Most people mentioned that TwinView works fine under windows 98 (but failing under windows 2000 with non P&P monitors) so why doesn't it work for me?
The symptons:
Windows found two monitors, and both of them are present in Control Panel->System hardware list. When I try to activate the second monitor in Display properties, the screens flash twice, and then the second monitor is shown as inactive (greyed out) again.
What I tried:
- I tried the latest drivers from both Gainward and Nvidia, with similar disappointing results.
- I tried setting to monitor drivers to the "default monitor" driver, as some people suggested in other threads.
- I tried setting up a composite color monitor as second display, using the video out connector. That worked fine.
For the record: both my monitors are non-plug&play.
Dis anyone encounter similar problems, and found a solution?
