I have a client that we bought ultramon for to use the screesaver player add on. We set up a second display hang on the wall strictly for the purpose of playing a screensaver all day. he screen saver player is fine, but as soon as I move the player to the second monitor the CPU Usage goes to 100%. If I set the second monitor as the primary monitor in ultramon, then the CPU usage goes to 100% on the first monitor when the player is on it. In other words whichever monitor is set as the secondary monitor, that monitor will go to 100% when the screensaver player is on it. I have installed 2 video cards to see if that helps, but it seems to be a software issue. We have run dxdiag from the run line, and everything checked out fine. We are running Radeon 9250 cards PCI. One is 128mb, the other is 256mb. The machine is P4 2.8ghz, w/ 512mb RAM. We have run the Please advise what may be causing the problem. Thanks, Jonathan
PS I tried only using 1 video card, both the 128mb seperately, as well as the 256mb seperately and I get the same problem.

That's most likely due to the specific screen saver used, to verify this take a look at Task Manager > Processes, ScrPlayer.exe will most likely use 0% CPU. If this is a 3D screen saver, the rendering is probably being done by the primary 3D device, and would then need to be copied to the secondary device. This might explain the CPU usage increase. With a simple 2D screen saver like Beziers, there should be no performance difference when running it on a secondary monitor.
