is it possible with two video cards (geforce 6800 pcie and 5200fx pci) to span a flight or driving sim over 2 19 (1280x1040) and 1 20w screen (1680x1050) with the 19's on each side?

common thought would suggest its not possible bc of the different resolutions, but is their any way?

Well, you could, but it wouldn't be advisable. You'd generally want to match the resolutions.

FOr most games you'd accomplish this by simply running the game in windowed mode and then setting the res to the combined res of the three monitors. In your case you'd want to set the res to 5040x1050 and then position it across all three monitors, which would hide the window borders and make it appear like a full screen game on all three. The problem is due to the lower res on the two side monitors you wouldn't see the top left and top right of what is being drawn on the monitors. In the case of a flight sim this might not be an issue though. Although at the very least your video card would be doing extra work because it would still do something with the area not displayed on the screen.

Also, it would look funny, since things on the two side monitors would appear larger then on the middle monitor. Which also means things wouldn't quite line up correctly.
