Hi, Have configured certain apps to open on monitor 2 (EG: Excel). Outlook opens on Monitor 1. If somebody sends me an email with an excel attachment, and I open it directly from the email, will the Excel sheet still use monitor 2? (since I won't be clicking on/using it's shortcut)
Thanks for any help

Only by accident, for example if Excel was closed on monitor 2 previously.
UltraMon won't position the application if it wasn't started via the customized shortcut.

Hi Christian
Just to clarify....as long as I have opened excel first by its shortcut (and don't close it) when I open an excel sheet from within outlook on Monitor 1, it will appear on monitor 2. But if I close excel first, the sheet will open on monitor 1?
regards
Steve

That wouldn't be necessary, just as long as Excel was closed on monitor 2 the last time.
This is due to Excel remembering its position, and opening on the same monitor the next time you open it.
You would only need to use UltraMon to position Excel if you would want a way to always open Excel on a specific monitor, independent of where it was closed the last time.
