We're projecting multimedia from our laptop to a series of televisions via an AverMedia Converter. Setup: laptop connected to converter via VGA cable; VGA cable running to 2nd monitor (live screen); video cable running from converter to dvd/vcr.

Until this week, everything was smooth. We switched from a Dell laptop to HP laptop and it screeched to a halt. The HP has a Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 card. It supports multiple monitors. It's running Windows Media Center Edition.

Booted up laptop with VGA cable connected.
Extended desktop to second monitor via properties.

The DVD/VCR was working as I played a DVD just fine.

Am I missing a setting with the Nvidia card? Thanks!

Try setting your second display as the primary or just using the display and not the laptop screen. Some video drivers don't like to draw vid windows on secondary displays... it's normally just for dvd and vcd playback as a way to stop piracy.
