When I enable my secondary monitor it starts at 60hz even though both Ultramon and Windows says it's set to 85hz. I order to fix it I have to goto display properties, change the refresh rate to something other then 85, click apply then back to 85hz. This annoying since i connect and disconnnect my laptop several times a day. Any suggestions?
I've installed my monitor's .inf file but Windows uses "generic monitor" instead. I've reinstalled ultramon several times. It's getting annoying.

I don't think UltraMon is going to fix that problem. It doesn't sound like it has anything to do with UltraMon.

I realize it's probably a windows problem but I was hoping someone might point me in the right direction to fix it.

I assume this is a CRT monitor, because LCD monitors are supposed to run at 60.hz. I've had this problem before when I had the resolution set to high on a 17" CRT. Dropping the resolution down to a lower setting, like 1024x768 allowed be to go over 60.hz.

Where's that darn edit button? I meant "set too high", and "allowed me to"

I had the same problem, which I solved by installing display drivers again.
