Hi
I have my system setup where the windows taskbar is at the top of the screen (think GNOME style) with a row of quicklaunch icons (many) this leaves little space for anything else. Not a problem when both screens are enabled with the smart taskbar on screen 2 and on screen 1. The tasks are at the bottom of screen 2 and bottom of screen one fine and the icons are at the top.
However
When I disable the secondary screen the smart taskbar closes and i have space for about 2 programs to fit in the taskbar space at the top. I have searched google, and googled this forum (and looked myself) however i cannot find any option to have the smart taskbar on all the time. Is this possible? One screen and a smart task bar?

That's no longer supported, UltraMon 2.6 will always disable the UltraMon taskbar(s) if only a single monitor is enabled.
One thing you could do would be to undock the Quick Launch toolbar, move the Windows taskbar to the bottom of the screen, then dock the Quick Launch toolbar at the top of the screen.
