Just installed the 2.7 update for UltraMon this morning, and have since gotten three inexplicable system crashes (Windows Stop errors/Blue Screens of Death). Anyone else experienced anything like this?
I'm not positive it's related to UltraMon, but since I haven't installed anything else in the past few weeks this seems the likely culprit. I'm moving back to 2.6 for now.
My config: WinXP Pro, ATI Radeon 9100 video card, Dell CRT 17-inch monitor and an Impression 17-inch LCD.

I also got a bad crash on the first reboot after upgrading from UltraMon 2.6.23 to 2.7.0, but it worked fine in subsequent reboots.
My system is a Windows XP x64 with two monitors on a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX.

What's the driver that caused the crash? You should see the driver name on the crash screen.

Sorry, Christian, I actually had my system set to automatically reboot so the Blue Screen came and went too quickly to see. I checked in the Event Viewer but didn't see any record of the faulty driver.
I downgraded back to 2.6 and haven't had any crashes since... if I try again, I'll let you know.

I've had 1 or 2 Crashes a day since I installed 2.71. Some times its a BSD other times the system just freezes solid. I haven't noticed if the BSD states a Driver but a Microsoft reporting facility has come up a couple of times now on re-booting and it says "stop error in unknown driver"
What I can tell you is it happens while while I'm steaming video (Sage TV Client ) and doing something else. It really seems tied in to UltraMon (2.71) as I closed ultramon for a day and a half so far and didn't have a crash, then just now I rebooted and left it up while I was again streaming video and it crashed with in 10 minutes.
The Event Log records this when there is a BSD
Event Type: Error Event Source: System Error Event Category: (102) Event ID: 1003 Date: 10/21/2006 Time: 7:55:14 PM User: N/A Computer: XP4G Description: Error code 1000000a, parameter1 0000ffdf, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000001, parameter4 806e4a8e.

Do you see high memory or CPU usage in Task Manager if you have both UltraMon and the TV app running?

Well, Not normally memory issue, I have 4GB CPU varies as to which side Video is on Analog side it runs at a maximum of 70% when full screen, digital side 15% or less.
In the mean time, I uninstalled UltraMon 2.71 and tried to re-install 2.6 which failed to install (rolls back at end) a problem I had before that righted itself eventually (I sent you email on it then) So I decided to re-install 2.71 again to see if it would re-install.
It failed but reported it was because of the Mirroring section, so I re-installed it without the mirroring section. (I don't use it anyway, and I think the video driver can do it if i really needed to.) And(cross your fingers) it hasn't crashed yet.
Somewhere between 2.6x and 2.70 I upgraded the Nvidia Video driver to the latest version as the result of a crash that Microsoft reported was due to possibly needing a new video driver and then I installed 2.70 and 2.71 on top of the existing version when they became available. Maybe, it was the mirroring section (which now isn't loaded ) all along?
In the meantime I'll see how long it goes before it crashes again... hopefully it won't.

I too have been getting crashes. I usually also keep windows media player open so the other comments regarding streaming media, if you also use WMP, may play a roll (mine is just for music though).
Once a day or so, both monitors go black for 5 seconds or so and then everything resumes normally.

Please try if you still have the problem without UltraMon running, my guess would be that this is due to something else, maybe a video card driver issue.
To close UltraMon, right-click the UltraMon icon in the system tray and select Close from the menu.

I tried to uninstall the 2.7.1release as all of the crashing / freezing is wiping out data. But, the uninstall seems pretty useless as when I try to reinstall the older 2.6 pre-crash version, it won't let me as it says I need language pack Ver 3.
All my dual monitor productivity gains are now turning into smoke as I try to deal with crashes, uninstalls, and reinstalls.

Repairing the installation should fix the language pack issue, to do this go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on the support information link, then click on Repair.

This is most likely a compatibility issue between UltraMon's mirroring feature and the video card driver, removing the mirroring feature should fix the problem.
To do this, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on Change, then deselect the mirroring feature on the Customize Installation screen.
