I spent quite a while configuring my XF86Config file to what I was pretty sure is right, and now I have 2 monitors... sort of. When I do:
startx -- +xinerama
the server starts up and the main screen shows the X desktop. The 2nd monitor (which was previously off) turns on, but it only shows a blinking cursor in the top left corner. Anybody know what could be causing this?

Well, I didn't get any help here, but I figured out my problem. My second video card didn't support the color depth and resolution combination that I had it set at. I lowered the color depth for both video cards, and it worked like a charm.
