Hi,

Since a couple of weeks I get "Failed to create UltraMonIndDisp object." upon starting UltraMon and then it just exits.

I have determined that this error goes away when I disable my 3rd (of 4) monitor, so I'm assuming something is screwed with that one.

Please advise.

For further troubleshooting, please run the script CreateIndDispObj.vbs, with the 3rd monitor enabled, and post the text of the error message you get.

i get the same error when i want to enable the ignore-option and the "ignore active monitors"-option on my third monitor (while it is active). when i deactivate it, the message doesn't appear and ultramon starts normally.
i need this, because i want to maximize my programs only to two of my monitors.

the .vbs says:
line: 1
char: 1
error: activex-components can't create object: 'UltraMon.IndDisp'
code: 800A01AD
source: runtime-error in Microsoft VBScript

(mine are in german, so i hope i translated correctly... =)

Looks like the component isn't registered properly, repairing the UltraMon installation should fix this.

To do this, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Systemsteuerung > Software), select UltraMon from the list, click on the support information link and then click on Repair.

funktioniert leider trotzdem noch nicht

doesn't work yet

Please try if reinstalling UltraMon fixes the problem.

Also make sure you don't have any security software running which might prevent creation of the registry entries used to register the component.

I have the same problem. It started while I was trying to disable my secondary monitor in order to allow myBluray drive to play a movie on the primary monitor. Somehow, things got hosed and I even totally removed UltraMon, ran Registry Mechanic and did a reinstall. I now get that message during reinstall and there in no icon in the system tray. I don't know what's going on.

Do you get an error message during setup itself as well, or only when UltraMon gets started after setup has finished?

when UltraMon gets started

If you have already tried repairing the UltraMon installation, go to UltraMon Options > Ignored Monitors and uncheck 'ignore enabled monitors', UltraMon will then no longer need to create this object.

I get the same error, the only problem is, it gives the error and doesn't start, so I can't change a thing, tried repairing, reinstalling, no good...

To reset the ignored monitors setting manually, run regedit.exe, then delete the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon'.

If you are using UltraMon 3, you'll need to delete the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon Components\IgnoredMonitors'.

You a genius, I was hoping that that last option would fix the problem I ran across and it did! Thanks again!
