Forums -> UltraMon™ -> UltraMon 2.7.1 and NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT compatibility issue?

Hello,

I set up a new system with an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT display adapter (dual DVI output) and two Samsung SyncMaster 971p LCD monitors. After installing the latest 2.7.1 version of UltraMon, Windows (XP SP2 ENG Professional with all patches) booted in 800x600 4-bit mode and higher resolutions/color depths became unavailable.

Reinstalling the latest display adapter drivers helped only for one boot, then the issue came back again.

Suspecting a compatibility issue, I removed UltraMon and reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers and this has fixed the problem. I installed UltraMon again and the problem was back, so this issue is reproducible.

When both UltraMon and NVIDIA drivers were installed, their GUI components were crashing.

Is this a known compatibility issue?

If you need further information about the issue, please let me know.

Seems to be a compatibility issue with UltraMon's mirroring feature and some video card driver versions.

Installing UltraMon without the mirroring feature will fix the problem.

To do this, deselect the mirroring feature on the Customize Installation screen of the setup.

Thanks Christian, that did the trick. I did not use the mirroring feature anyway, so no big loss.
