I already use Ultramon with my laptop + single external lcd monitor. But I am considering the DualHead2Go from Matrix if it's compatible with Ultramon (i.e. the two desktops coming from a single stream would seem to cause issues). Any experiences or suggestions, please let me know.

UltraMon doesn't support the 2Go, it will see the monitors connected to the 2Go as a single wide monitor.

If your notebook has PCMCIA II CardBus 32bit you might look into the Village Tronic VT Book.
