I tried connecting 3 monitors using 3 Trident cards. But display came only in 1 monitor. Is it the problem of card or the driver ?

What operating system are you using?

Windows NT

This won't work, NT has no native multi-monitor support, which means that multi-monitor only works with special cards and drivers.

See Multimon with Windows NT 4 for more information.

I tried an appian multimonitor card which suports 4 monitors in the Nt environment and was succesfulBut i don't want that.I want to connect 3 moniors to my system using 3 cards.so u mean to say that it is not possible in Nt, right??So what should i do to conect these 3 monitors to my NT machine??
Christian Studer   2001-08-29 01:15
If you want to stay with NT, you need to get a card from one of the manufacturers listed in the review, there is no other way.

Your other option is upgrading to Win98 or 2000, but the Trident cards will most likely not work as secondary on Windows 2000.

So u mean to say i have to go for 3 matrox or ATI cards if i need to stayin NT
Christian Studer   2001-08-29 01:32
3 Matrox cards may work, but you need to check with Matrox which combinations of cards are supported for multi-monitor use on NT4.

3 ATI cards or any other combination of multiple cards will not work, as far as I know Matrox is the only manufacturer who has supported multiple cards on NT4.

That's fine.
One more clarification. Using 3 different cards connected to a system, is it possible to stretch one window across all the 3 monitors or will the window come in just one monitor.Should i use some extra software for that??
Christian Studer   2001-08-29 01:52
You can stretch a window across multiple monitors, no extra software is required. The 3 monitors are treated as a single large desktop.
