I have a dual monitor setup and have a recurring issue in Office 2007 where about 80% of the time if I click the "Change Monitor" button, the office application i am in locks up for about 30 minutes unless I end task first. Not sure if there are other circumstances at play, but I'm curious if others have experienced this.

I haven't seen this myself so far. Does this happen with all Office applications, and did you notice anything else which seems to cause the issue?

I have the same problem with Excel 2007. The switch monitor and maximize on both monitor buttons flicker when passing the mouse over them and Excel locks up when trying to use the button to switch monitors. The keyboard shortcut I have mapped to F1 will still work to move a window between monitors.

Ultramon ver. 2.7.1 does not work with Office 2007 (any of the Office applications). When you attempt to use the additional buttons (extend window or move window) the application locks and has to be killed.

Which version of Windows are you using?
The buttons worked fine for me on Windows XP SP2 with Word 2007.

I have now been able to reproduce the issue, happens if the classic visual style is used. Will be fixed in the next release if possible. Workarounds: - right-click the application's title bar and use the move / desktop-maximize menu commands - change to the Windows XP visual style under Display Properties > Appearance To disable the window buttons for the Office applications, go to UltraMon Options > Window Title Bar and add each application's executable to the exclusion list, for example Word is winword.exe.

I'm also seeing problems with 3.0 Beta 1 on Windows XP Professional with SP 2 and MS Office 2007, mainly Excel and Word when I click to send a spreadsheet or document to send it to both monitors CPU active goes up to 100% for a few minutes then drops down and nothing happens to my spreadsheet or document. Access will not show the buttons until you hover over them but then either of the buttons work. Outlook 2007 works just fine.

I was also having the same issue with Word, Excel, and Access. Changed my look from Windows Classic to Windows XP, and it now works fine. Thanks.

Is anyone else losing the color in the new office button in 2007 (top right corner)? It is doing this in word and excel. Not sure if this is a ultramon issue but it only does this when I am on the docking station.

Haven't seen this myself so far (Office 2007 on Vista).
Does the problem go away if you close UltraMon?

It does not. I guess this is a windows issue????

Or maybe a video card driver issue, I'm not sure though what would cause this.

Hi I also have some serious similar problems I have help in a nice tech support site. They have a very big community of experts and you can choose to ask for free or for money. I have used them and they answered some of my questions. Here is the Vista support page: Vista Support and the Office 2007 Support page: Office 2007 Support I also got some great information from here
Thanks for all the great tips

Christian, were you able to fix this in the new beta release? I am having the same issue and your workarounds do work for me so i suspect it is the exact same issue. One thing I have learned i can do is ctrl->alt->del and open the taskmgr. Just doing that clears the hangup and i am back to working order. I do not have to close or restart anything. Still very annoying.
While I know i could switch from classic view, i just never liked the "new" look of XP. Hope you can find and destroy this bug.
Thanks,
Rick

Rick, this issue was fixed in 3.0 Beta 2. The buttons now work fine with Office 2007 with all themes.
