I purchased a HP Pavilion a1710n, with an integrated nvidia geforce 6100 le, and I was trying to install a second video card, nvidia geforce 5200 for an additional display. When I install the 5200, the 6100 becomes completely disabled, and I was wondering if there was some way to enable it so I can have multiple displays.

That is standard for integrated video cards when another one is installed.

Ok, but is there some way to change it.

Install the new card. Go to device manager and disable the new card. restart the machine. It will boot up with the original card. go to device manager and enable the second card. Restart machine.

You didn't mention what type of card slot the new video card uses. If it is an AGP cadr, it will not work with the onboard video. If it is PCI or PCIe, it might work with the onboard.
