Two identical samsung monitors, nvidia 7300GT video card, identical cables, if I span a white window over both windows, there is a slight difference (bluer) on the right hand monitor. All the monitor settings are identical..

Any ideas?

You could try the colour management powertoy.
I found I no longer printed very dark photos once I'd installed it. It sorts colour on the screen and the printed using profiles it downloads on install.
