Hey UltraMon!!...
right now i am running 2 monitors off of a Geforce FX5500(AGP) with an nvidia driver...

i have installed an Nvidia Geforce4 MX 420(PCI)...
it boots up with the PCI card(I've heard thats necessary) and then the nvidia driver kicks in and jumps back to the other 2 screens....

the problem i seem to be having is that i can't install the driver for the new card because it tries to over-right the newer driver...

i have heard of other people running 2 of the same cards and not having a problem, how would i go about fixing this....

Thanks, bumross!

the PCI card does not show up in properties panel ether even though it boots with that card.

is there a way for me to have it show up even though its not installed, like as a plug and play?

After your computer boots up, is that third monitor then available, along with the two on the APG card, or does it just stay blank from that point?

Did you change a setting in your BIOS when you installed the PCI card?

the screen stays blank after its don't booting....

i didn't change any settings in my bios, because i though that was all if the card didn't boot at all.

This can vary, depending on your make and model of motherboard. You may need to access the BIOS and set PCI as the primary graphics adapter if it allows that. If that doesn't work, just go back into your BIOS and reverse the change.

can you tell me exactly what to do?... where would i find this in the BIOS? ...

and if it boots with that card, wouldn't that mean that it is primary?

Good point. I may have made an erroneous statement. Can you state the exact make and model of your compute? That may help someone here help you.
