First of all I'd like to say how nice it is to be able to post a question as a prospective purchaser without have to go through a regfistration process which is the norm everywhere on the Internet. now to my question...
I would like to purchase Multi-Mon but one feature it adds that I actually don't want is taskbars for each monitor. I very much like keeping my main monitor free of all taskabars since I do CAD work and like to not have even one extra pixel of the screen dedicated to anything unnecessary (in this case a taskbar).
Can I receive the other benefits of MultiMon but leave the taskbar enhancements off? I am quite happy having my taskbar on one monitor only.

This is possible, you can disable the Smart Taskbar under UltraMon Options > Smart Taskbar.
You could also install UltraMon without the Smart Taskbar feature, to do this deselect the feature on the Customize Installation screen of the setup.
