Hi all.

My PC was recently infected with a virus which messed with my Windows install/registry. Now UltraMon is not working (I had 3.0beta installed previously).
I've tried uninstalling/repairing but no good.
When I try to install 2.71 it says "a newer version of this product is already installed. you'll need to uninstall the newer version first before installing an older version of the product" then quits.
When I try to install 3.0beta, it says "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel".
It gives that same message when I right click the .msi file and click Uninstall or Repair.

Is there any way I can fix this without reinstalling Windows? I'll format when I find the time, but for now I would like to rescue the install if possible. Thanks.

MsiZap should be able to remove the existing installation data, you can download it here.

Run MsiZap from the command prompt with the following arguments:

msizap.exe TW <msifile>

For example to remove installation data for UltraMon 3.0.0:

msizap.exe TW C:\Temp\UltraMon_3.0.0_en_x32.msi
