Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Installing Beta 3 on Vista killed my DVD Fab Platinum 3.1.5.0

When I installed Ultramon Beta on my vista computer with 3 monitors, DVD Fab Platinum 3.1.5.0. When I try to start DVD Fab it doesn't start and gets a message windows that it has stopped working. It worked fine before UltraMon. I tried to uninstall UM and still doesn't work. I tried to restore from right before the install and it doesn't work. I tried reinstalling DVD Fab and get the same error. I had to restore my whole system from a back and then DVD Fab worked great. Tried to install UM again and am having the smae problem. Unless someone can help me figure this out I have to restore from backup again.

Thanks

Unfortunately I don't know how this would happen, UltraMon doesn't make any permanent system changes.

I also haven't been able to reproduce this issue, starting DVDFab Platinum via the shortcut in Start Menu > Programs > DVDFab Platinum worked fine with UltraMon running.

Testing was done on 32-bit Vista with UltraMon 3.0 Beta 1 and DVDFab Platinum 3.1.5.0.

Thanks for testing...I don't know what other factors are playing in. It is very easy for me to reproduce, I will try it again with the next version. Do you know when that will be out?

I don't have an estimated release date for the second beta yet.

I think my problem is more than Ultramon. I freshly installed Vista Ultimate in my system with an Nvidia 8800GTS and a 7600GS. I have been using these cards since February. The first app I tried to install was Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard. It would and never start after installation. I spend a whole day on the phone with Adobe Tech Support and reloaded Vista many times. I finally thought about removing the second video card and it loads just fine. It works with either card, jut not both. I have since learned that Vista and Nvidia cards are not happy together and the MS is releasing a big patch on Pathc Tuesday in August that is supposed to correct the many problems. Just thought I'd share.
