Do you think ultramon will work with Matrox's Dual Head to Go adaptor?

The DualHead2Go isn't supported, the problem is that UltraMon will only see a single wide monitor instead of the two monitors actually connected to the 2Go.

My understanding is that DH2G software enables MS window management (maximize, minimize etc) for each monitor individually. Would Ultramon still not work then? I really don't fancy having to write my own app specifically to use with DH2G!

This is handled by the Matrox software, UltraMon will still only see a single wide monitor.
For compatibility with UltraMon, the display driver would need to emulate two monitors, but this isn't possible with the 2Go because it uses the original display driver for the video chipset and handles splitting of the output signal in the hardware.

I have used ultramon in the past, mainly for the smart task bar, so apps on monitor 1 are separate from monitor 2 for all the apps I run. I am running a triplehead2go (similar to dualhead2go) and as stated here I assumed it was unsupported.
My question is this, how hard and would you be willing to add another option to ultramon to support smart task bar when using these 2 matrox products. If someone select dual head you split that monitors app in the center, apps on the left versus right now get their own task bar. If using triple head mode, it splits it into thirds.
I'm not sure what you rely on internally to manage your smart task bar, but please consider some way to split apps into different task bars for (what you see in the system) as 1 screen. Maybe just code a way to split/interpolate screen to taskbar somewhat the way you do now. Today if more than half a window moves to another screen you show it in the other screens task bar. Have a way to say divide screen taskbar, with the numbers 2,3,etc in a dropdown, then virtually divide the screen and do this same math to move the window.
Hopefully this made some sense, if you are interested I would be happy to alpha test this for you.

P.S. I should mention I am running vista 64 and tried the beta 3.x that I downloaded today and it installs and works fine. I get a second taskbar as expected, Simply add the ability to split a taskbar as posted above would work and given the number of posts on the subject make many users happy :)

In digging some more I saw you reccommend splitview (http://www.splitview.com) to someone else and while this looks sorta like what I need it doesnt have separate task bars like the ultramon taskbar.

Currently I have no plans to add support for this, one problem is that UltraMon can't restrict the main taskbar to only a single monitor, or disable it completely.

I just purchased the Triplehead2Go from Matrox. I read where ver. 3.x is working for this user. I installed 3.03 beta and could not get any feature of Ultramon to work. I would really like to be able to use Ultramon. There must be many users out there in cyberspace with the Triplehead2Go or Dualhead2Go that would love to use Ultramon. I wanted to go on record for including support for these graphic enhancers in a future release.
Keep up the great work. Ultramon rocks even if I can't use it! The Computer Man

It's a real pity the matrox software does not have the move between windows icons, that's what I really miss about not being able to use UltraMonitor any more.
btw, ViBook looks interesting http://jonpeddie.com/reviews/details/villagetronics_vibook/ wonder if it has software with UltraMonitor like functionality to move windows between monitors - anyone know?

I also have a TripleHead2Go. I need to use that because I have a laptop that while in the port replicator doesn't support dual monitor. Figured if I was going to buy the DualHead2Go, I might as well spend the extra money to get the third.
I will go on the record that if UltraMon supported the matrox device, I would buy it!

I to am looking to use ultramon with my triple head 2 go. Be nice to have the start button in the center screen too. and separate taskbars for each screen.

A number of people have indicated in this thread that the use UltraMon with TripleHead2Go. How is this possible when the developer says it's not supported?
