Newbie here trying to be a techie. I have a Sony VAIO 2.6 gHz 1.0Ram. It has a Nvida MX440 video card and I added a Nvidia FX 5200 card. The N MX440 has an SVGA port and a DVI connector. THe N FX 5200 has to SVGA connectors.

I hava monitor plugged into the SVGA on theN MX 440. I have monitor plugged into one of the N FX 5200 SVGA slots. I used extend my windows desk top and I have two monitors.

I want to use a third monitor, but when I plug it into the second SGVA adapter on the N FX5200 card, nothing happens.

What do I need to do to fix this so I can run the third monitor?

Thanks in advance.

Does Display Properties show the third monitor when you have it connected to the FX5200 card? And, did you open Display Properties, select the third monitor, and check the box for "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor"?

If the third monitor does not appear in Display Properties with the FX5200, you might get a DVI-to-VGA adapter and use it to connect your third monitor to the MX440 card.
