I've been running dual monitor here at work for a while now using the on board HP video along with an ATI Rage XL Pro cheap PCI card for the secondary.
I finally decided to pick up a dual monitor video card (ATI Radeon 7000 PCI) to replace the ATI Rage XL Pro so I could run 3 monitors instead of just 2.
The issue is that the second monitor (identified as monitor 3 in Windows) on the new card won't display more than 800x600 resolution. If I set it higher, the desktop scrolls as I move my mouse cursor past the edge of the screen.
Can anyone lend some advice? I am running Windows XP Professional. This 800x600 monitor is an LCD flat panel which has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 (which is my goal). My other two screens are CRT 19" 1600x1200 which are working fine. I do have administrator privileges.
The issue follows the port, not the monitor. I can put the LCD on a different port and set it to 1280x1024 and it works correctly.
I also get a memory error when the ATI tray tries to load on boot.

I fixed this issue finally.
Come to find out, when increasing the resolution past 800x600, the video card couldn't handle a Color Quality over 16 bit. When set to the same 32 bit it was at for 800x600, it would cause the screen to scroll.
Setting the Color Quality to 16 bit allowed resolution to 1600x1200.
