I would like to set up up a 3+ Digital Monitor system and I plan to buy a brand new Intel QX9650 based PC whose Motherbaord will surely have 2-3 PCI- Express Slots and at least 1 PCI slot.

I already have the following (3) monitors:

(1) Gateway 30" XHD3000- Native Resolution 2500 X 1600 @ 60 Htz (sweet!)

(2) Gateway 24"FHD2400 - Native Resolution 1920 X 1200 @ 60 Htz, *** which I will run in PORTRAIT MODE 95% of the time ***

The Matrox Triple is a non-starter because it cannot deliver 2500 X 1600 @ 60 Htz to any one monitor.

If I buy either (2) Nvidia 8800 Dual DVI cards (without SLI enabled) or (2) ATI Radeon Dual DVI cards (without Crossfire enable), can either be confiquired to deliver triple (and later possibly quad) video output at the native resolution of the above monitors?

Can the above be readily accomplished with Win XP Pro?

Can the above be readily accomplished with Win Vista Ultimate?

If I buy (2) video PCI-Express X16 cards with a powerfull GPU and 512MB or better, will the triple video setup not be a drag on system resources?

Thank you in advance for any and all of your assistance in this regard!

I would recommend an 8800gt 512mb for your middle monitor and probably the same thing to drive both outside monitors. Don't be fooled by the 1gb version of the 8800gt because it costs more but gives no further performance boosts for 90% of apps.

Sorry I jumped to conclusions and just posted what little was asked. Yes, XP will support it, yes, Vista will too. If you have any other questions just say so and we'll figure out someway to communicate. I currently run a triple monitor rig, and have ran it before and after triplehead2go.

That's my setup.
