Hi,

has anybody ever managed to use Windows together with more than 18 active displays? If yes, what kind of setup do you guys use? I'm experiencing crashes from the 19th active monitor on...

My setup:

WinXP
4 GB RAM
Intel Core Duo E6600
Asus P5GC
5x Matrox G450 MMS Quad

Besides, I'm quite puzzled that there isnt any information on this topic available at Google. Even this forum has only threads always dealing with 12 or 16 screens and so on...). Has no tekkie ever tried to _really_ max out Windows own possibilities?!

Unfortunately, I have never tried more than 3 screens.

Ian,

I administer several 10-monitor systems for traders. We would like to transition to Windows Vista 64-bit to benefit from the more modern underpinnings of the newer operating system, but I'm having problems getting all 10 monitors to work.

I'm using one 8600 GT and two NVS 440 cards. It works fine with up to 7 or 8 (I forget exactly which) monitors enabled, any combination. Once I enable the next monitor, Aero disables itself and I start to get crashes during things like video playback and the Windows Experience Index benchmark.

I've tried this on a dual-socket Tyan S2915 Opteron machine and on a single-socket Gigabyte P35 Core 2 Quad machine, with the same results.

If you could please share anything you know that would let me get all ten monitors working, I'd be grateful. You can e-mail me at wjrogers at gmail, or just reply here; I'll check back periodically.

Thanks very much.
