Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Secondary Monitor taskbar is twice as big as main monitor taskbar
kevix   2008-01-24 07:55
Ok, I know I've got a fairly wacky "theme" that I use in windows. It makes the icon sizes quite small so that I can get two rows of system icons per single row of window icons on the taskbar. If I knew how to post a screenshot, I would.

I am running Vista and I see that the UltraMon taskbar is twice the height on the secondary monitor as it is on the primary monitor.

My hunch is that this bug will also be on XP, though. I'm not sure how to officially file a bug, so consider this my submission.

Here is the "theme" file I use from C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\mytheme.theme

(I think the only relevant thing is the IconMetrics line, but I could be wrong.)

Can you resize the UltraMon taskbar? To do this, first unlock the main taskbar.

I have this same problem with 3.0.2 on XP with no special theming. Interestingly, it happened around the time I switched from 120-DPI (large) fonts back to 96-DPI (normal) sized fonts.

I was about to downgrade back to 2.7.2 until I saw this post. The suggestion to unlock the taskbar on the primary monitor and manually shrink the size on the secondary one works like a charm.

Cool! This totally worked for me. And it also persisted between reboots, which I didn't expect.

You guys are great. Thanks Christian and Garen.
