I am trying to get a third monitor on my computer which is seeming to be a problem with the way vista handles drivers. I am trying to run a Geforce 8600GT and a Geforce 5200 FX since I do not have a second pcie slot. I can't find drivers that work for both cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to run two nvidia cards they both must be supported by the same driver. You can not install multiple nvidia drivers or mix nividia and ATI. The information on nvidias web site indicates that the 8600GT driver will not support your 5200. You will need to move up your second card to at least a 6 series. You should be able pick up a old used pci version on ebay. I am running a 8600GTS and a pci 6200 FX under vista.

My system came with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS PCIe-16 card and I am trying to add the -GeForce 6200 256MB PCI card to the system.
Now I am getting the BSOD with a IRQ NOT LESS THAN error. I removed the PCI card and even then the system is getting the BSOD.
Will the 8600GTS work with 6200 series?

You can mix Nvidia and ATI, I have for years. In fact I've had a motherboard that was insanely picky, and wouldn't run with 2 x Nvidia, only 1 of each! I'm on a new motherboard now, PCI-E, and my old PCI nvidia won't work. I'm looking at the 5200/5500 cards in the hope they will. (PCI-E is 8400GS). Hope to get a PCI card which is also dualhead, then I can be really greedy in the future and run 4x monitors :p
