I have TrayIt installed. When I move a window from one screen to another, it is automatically minimized to the systray and I have to restore it for it to show up on that screen. I suspect this is a TrayIt issue rather than an Ultramon issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and/or has any suggestions for how to fix it.

Does this only happen when moving maximized windows?

Yes, now that you mention it. It is only maximized windows.

By default UltraMon minimizes, then restores maximized windows when moving them, this seems to cause problems with TrayIt.

If you are using UltraMon 3, run AltMoveAllApps.reg then restart UltraMon to fix the problem. This causes UltraMon to use the alternative method to move maximized windows for all applications.

For UltraMon 2 there is no fix for this.

That seems to fix it for some applications, although oddly enough not Outlook 2003. Not sure why that would be different.

I've been able to reproduce this issue, will be fixed in the next release.

As a workaround, go to UltraMon Options > Compatibility, click on Configure settings, select Outlook from the list of running applications, then select the 'use alternative method to move maximized window' option.

Thanks, that fixes it for Outlook; and I assume it will fix it for any other applications that behave the same way. There is a little bit of a performance hit -- it looks like it is de-maximizing, moving, than re-maximizing. Even on my dual core 1.83Ghz CPU with 2GB RAM it's a noticeable delay.

Unfortunately there is no other fix for this, except minimizing the window during the move.
