If there are no web browsers open, when I open a webpage from the favorites menu in the start menu, the website flashes up on the screen for a moment and then closes. When I repeat the action, websites open just fine. Any chance UltraMon could be causing this?
Thanks,
Vince

My guess would be that this isn't related to UltraMon, works fine for me on Vista with UltraMon 3.0.2.
To verify that the issue isn't related to UltraMon, check if you still have the problem without UltraMon running. To close UltraMon, right-click the UltraMon icon in the system tray and select Close from the menu.

I closed down UltraMon and the issue seemed to go away. It reappeared when I restarted UltraMon. Upgrading to v3.02 seems to have fixed the problem though.

Actually, it appears that updgrading has not fixed the problem. Perhaps it was initially working because I had previously restarted UltraMon.
Anyway, links accessed from my favorites in the start menu work fine when UltraMon is off, but must be clicked twice when UltraMon is on.

Which version of Windows are you using, and which browser (IE, Firefox, etc)?

I have now tested on XP with 3.0.2 and IE 7 but haven't been able to reproduce the issue.
It's probably a conflict of some sort with another application, you could troubleshoot the issue by closing other background applications and checking if that fixes the problem.

Is there a way to log what happens when the website opens and then close?
Thanks,

I'm not aware of a way to do this.

Update on this issue: I tried disabling the programs I'm able to disable (MSN Messenger, my wireless utility, etc.) but I don't have permission to disable some things (antivirus and backup). No progress.
Finally, I decided to try Firefox. Problem solved. I've been using Firefox for about 3 weeks now with no problems whatsoever. So, whatever it was, it seems to be between IE7 and UltrMon.
