I'm running Ultramon 2.7 and am getting a runtime error message when trying to move a maximized Acrobat 8.1 window to another screen. If it's not maximized, it works fine. It also only happens when I open an Acrobat window from inside of Prosystems Engagement. If I open Acrobat from a PDF file from, say, the desktop, I can move it around all I want. So is this an Ultramon issue or something to do with Prosystems Engagement software?
The error is: MS Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
BTW, I'm running it from a laptop with 2 external monitors although I'm only using one of them right now. Here's what the About window says: 4 monitors, 2 disabled Current desktop: 2464x900 (-1440,0 - 1024,900)
Monitor 1 - IBM ThinkPad 1024x768 LCD panel (primary): Settings: 1024x768, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1024,768. Workspace: 0,0 - 1024,734 Video card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300 Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor0
Monitor 2 - No Device (disabled): Settings: 1440x900, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1440,900 Video card: DisplayLink Graphics Adapter Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor0
Monitor 3 - Default Monitor (disabled): Settings: 1280x1024, 16-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1024,0 - 2304,1024 Video card: TARGUS USB2.0 VGA DOCK DEVICE(DISPLAY). Device: \\.\DISPLAY3\Monitor0
Monitor 4 - Default Monitor (removable): Settings: 1440x900, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: -1440,0 - 0,900. Workspace: -1440,0 - 0,866 Video card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300 Device: \\.\DISPLAY4\Monitor3
Hopefully this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The way UltraMon moves maximized windows by default can cause problems for some applications, but I also haven't had any problems with Acrobat or Adobe Reader so far (launched normally, not via another application).
If you want to troubleshoot this further, you could install the latest 3.0 beta release, then go to UltraMon Options > Compatibility, configure custom settings for the application, and check the 'use alternative method to move maximized window' option.

Thanks for the reply! I'll test that out and maybe I can convince those in charge to upgrade everyone here to 3.0.

I'm having this same problem. We downloaded the free version to test this against another software which does the same thing. We like this program better, but moving Adobe from screen to screen makes Adobe crash. That alone makes the program useless to us. Is there any fix for this? We are using Adobe 8.0 Standard. We really like everything else about it and would like to buy it for our firm. We too are using Engagement, etc. but it's inside and outside the program so it shouldn't be affecting it.
Thank you.

If this also happens only with maximized Adobe Acrobat windows, go to UltraMon Options > Compatibility, configure custom settings for Adobe Acrobat, then check the 'use alternative method to move maximized window' option.
You'll need to have the 3.0 beta version of UltraMon installed, version 2 doesn't have this option.
